First of all I want to say excellent blog! I had a quick question that I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing. I've had trouble clearing my mind in getting my ideas out. I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Appreciate it!Here is my page - cheap party dresses uk
Thank you so much for your kind words. They are very encouraging. You ask a very good question about clearing my head to write. Sometimes inspiration just comes to me, and I either memorize it (if I don't have pen and paper) or I jot it down before I lose it. Most of the time though, when I actually am sitting down to write, I think about what it is I want to write about. What's my goal? I have to have some kind of goal in mind. Right now, I am planning out my third novel. It's actually been planned for awhile, but it's been a long time since I've looked at it, and the story in my head has actually changed somewhat. When I write, I usually brainstorm first. I make lists, mental maps, charts, anything that will help me to get my ideas down. Usually just thinking about my ideas gives me some kind of visual picture or dialogue, and I start writing. I have learned that I am the kind of writer who must have an outline. Not a detailed one, but I need to know what the goal of each scene is before I can write it. I type that scene goal at the top of each page. If I just can't think of anything to write in my computer, I go to my writer's notebook and brainstorm what I'm visualizing. Usually it's what I see, what I would hear, what I would feel, etc. until I have all of the senses. Then, I start with whichever idea makes the most sense to start with.
